PND-500 polystyrene expanding machine

PND-500 is meant for polystyrene granules expanding. Granules’ expanding is performed by thermal treatment using saturated steam.

PND-500 consists of frame, thermal chamber with unloading port, agitator installed inside chamber, loading hoppers for raw materials, screw feeders and control panel.

 

Operating principle: raw materials from bin feeder are fed to expander thermal chamber. Affected by vapor, polystyrene granules start expanding. Granules swell out and expel closer to the unloading port. Agitator blades mix granules preventing agglutination and supporting even moving of material to the unloading port.

Machine capacity and density of expanded polystyrene depend on speed of raw materials feed. Secondary or multiple expanding is performed in the same way as the first one.
